We're Home!

The day that we've been waiting for finally arrived - moving day!!

I was up at the crack of dawn, no need for an alarm clock that day. Neither of us had slept very well the night before, either too excited, or nervous, we couldn't decide which.

We had the usual last minute boxes to pack, well quite a few to be honest, but we were ready and waiting for the removal men by half past eight. It's at that point you start to have a little niggle at the back of your mind ... what if they don't turn up?

By 9am though the guys had turned up and they were well and truly under way with our removal. They make it look so easy. They know exactly what box to pack and where and they even turned up with portable wardrobes, which meant that we didn't have to pack up our clothes, fantastic!

I was mortified a few times though during the morning, I couldn't believe the amount of dust that had collected under our furniture. I do try and keep the place clean and tidy but with a toddler and a greyhound it's not so easy at times and there's only so far that you can get the vacuum under the bed, well  that's my excuse anyway!

By lunchtime the van was full and they guys headed off for lunch whilst we waited on news about when we could pick up the keys to our new home.

Removal Van

Before we headed off to grab a bit to eat ourselves I took a photos of our lovely flat

Living Room

I will be sad to leave the flat ... a lot had happened during the time I lived there. When I first moved in I was a single girl, but by the time I left I had acquired a husband, our son and our greyhound! It was also where we brought our son home to when he was born, and where I left from when my husband and I were married.

We picked up the keys to our new home mid afternoon and our removal men proceeded to appear with boxes and furniture asking what we wanted where ... at first I had labelled boxes with rooms but it went a bit by the way side as time went on and by the time the guys had left we had boxes everywhere and we had a bit of a lottery as to their contents! It took me two whole days to find my underwear! I was beginning to wonder if the guys had a thing for my underwear!!

 Kitchen, boxes

We're slowly finding places for our things but it'll take us ages to get everything sorted out, but we've got a life-time, that's one thing we're both agreed on we're not moving again!

We're now off on holiday for a couple of  which should give us some time to straighten the house out, but our 'to-do' list is quickly getting longer and longer ...

Here's to a life-time of happiness in our new home.
